The "Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for International Chinese Language Education" is the first standardized standard by the National Language Commission for foreign Chinese learners to comprehensively describe and evaluate their Chinese language skills and levels. The release and implementation of the "Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for International Chinese Language Education: English Version" is an important symbol of the further improvement of the language and writing standardization system, and will provide strong support for the development of international Chinese education. The "Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for International Chinese Language Education" was organized and developed by the Sino foreign Language Cooperation and Exchange Center of the Ministry of Education. It drew on more than 10 influential international language standards and conducted extensive research on the actual situation of international Chinese education and teaching in domestic and foreign universities, primary and secondary schools, and other types of educational institutions. It fully solicited opinions and suggestions from domestic and foreign experts and other relevant parties, and was completed after repeated argumentation and revision.

Since the Ministry of Education released the "Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for International Chinese Language Education", HSK (Level 7-9) has received widespread attention. According to the exam plan, the world's first exam will be held on November 26, 2022. In 2023, HSK (7-9) will begin to be widely tested.
