I.the solar term

Heavy snow means that the weather is colder and the likelihood of snowfall is greater than that of light snow. II. Customs

(I) Cured Meat

There is a saying in old Nanjing, "Pickle vegetables in light snow, pickle meat in heavy snow". The origin of the snow pickled meat is: according to legend, in ancient China, there is a monster called "year", head long sharp horns, fierce and unusual. "The Nian lived deep under the sea for many years, and every New Year's Eve, it would climb up to the shore to hurt people. In order to avoid being hurt, people would not leave their homes at the end of the year. Therefore, it is necessary to stockpile a lot of food before the "Nian" comes out. Meat, fish, chicken, ducks and other meat products could not be stored for long, so people came up with ways to preserve them. For fresh vegetables, people used air-drying methods.
